Melissa officinalis, commonly known as lemon balm, comes from a sweet, lemony herb. Our melissa essential oil is steam-distilled from the leaves of the plant.
Common Uses:Melissa leaf essential oil is well known for its uplifting properties. Use topically in very small dilution.
Aromatic Scent:Melissa Leaf Essential Oil has a warm and radiant scent reminiscent of lemons.
Cautions:Melissa Leaf Essential Oil has possible sensitizing and dermal irritating characteristics. Nonetheless, it is viewed by experts as non-toxic.Avoid use during pregnancy.
Vetiver Essential Oil is extracted from the root system of Vetiveria zizanioides, a grass native to India and Sri Lanka. The grass is woven into mats in India and Sri Lanka.
Common Uses: The oil is typically used in perfumes and aromatherapy. As the oil ages the smell improves.
Aromatic Scent: Vetiver Essential Oil has an earthy, woody scent with rich, subtly sweet undertones.
Cautions: No known toxicity. Avoid when pregnant. For topical use only.
Peppermint leaves are used all over the world to season food, freshen breath, and aid with digestion. Our peppermint essential oil is steam-distilled from mentha piperita leaves grown in India.
Common Uses:Peppermint contains a high amount of menthol, which causes topical cooling. It is excellent for cooling reddened skin and providing relief from painful mental tension. Added to a massage blend, peppermint is great for soothing. Peppermint also promotes clear breathing. Diffuse or apply topically in 2-10% dilution.
Aromatic Scent:Peppermint Supreme Essential Oil has strong minty notes with herbaceous warm undertones.
Cautions:Peppermint Supreme Essential Oil should be used well diluted since high concentration can cause a burning sensation and sensitization.Avoid use during pregnancy.
Cinnamomum Cassia
The cinnamomum cassia tree grows natively in China, where the powdered bark has been used as an ingredient in natural medicine for gripe or colic for thousands of years. It is a close relative to cinnamon, with a sweeter aroma. Our cassia essential oil is steam-distilled from the leaves of the cassia tree.
Common Uses:Cassia has a wonderful scent, and can be easily mixed with other spice essential oils. It is an extremely potent oil and when applied topically should be used in extreme dilution to avoid sensitivity. Diffuse in a blend or apply topically at a maximum of 0.2% dilution (one drop to 5 teaspoons carrier oil).
Aromatic Scent:Cassia Essential Oil has a pungent, warm scent. Powdered cassia contains 1% to 2% volatile oil (cassia oil), which is mainly responsible for the spicy aroma.
Cautions:Cassia Oil is a dermal irritant, dermal sensitizer and a mucus membrane irritant and should be avoided in pregnancy.
Ginger root has been grown as a spice for thousands of years. Our ginger is steam-distilled from zingiber officinalis rhizomes grown in China.
Common Uses:Ginger is great for bringing balance and grounding. Breathe deeply during times of stress or dizziness; topically, it warms and increases circulation. Diffuse or apply topically in a 2-5% dilution.
Aromatic Scent:Ginger Root Essential Oil has a warm, spicy, woody scent.

While the body butter will remain just as effective if it melts, it will lose its fluffiness and become solid. We ship all orders with body butter early in the week to make sure it does not sit in a warehouse over the weekend, and we ship it with enough ice packs to keep it cool and wrapped in bubble wrap to insulate it during the trip. DESCRIPTION
Patchouli is a bushy herb of the mint family, native to tropical regions of Asia. It grows well in hot weather but not in sunlight. The Leaves are harvested several times a year and often distilled immediately. The color of the oil is affected by the distillation machine; if the young leaves are distilled in a stainless steel vessel, the oil will be light, but if done in an iron vessel, the color will be dark. Our patchouli is distilled using an iron vessel and grown in Indonesia.
Common Uses:Patchouli has long been used in skin care for its ability to help with issues such as chapped or cracked skin. It is often found in anti-aging skin creams due to its ability to lessen the look of some scars. It is also popularly used to relieve tension and anxiety.
